Abuja, Nigeria – Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor, President of United Abia Artists and Patriots (UAAP), has issued a stern warning to Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, urging him to desist from making undemocratic statements that threaten the fabric of Nigeria’s democracy.
In a press statement, Offor rejected the notion that every governor must come from the APC, emphasizing that Nigeria is not a one-party state. He also expressed concerns about the Southeast Development Commission Bill, suspecting it may be an APC ploy to woo the region.
Offor called on Kalu to refrain from distracting Governor Alex Otti’s administration with premature talks of the 2027 election, allowing the governor to focus on delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
The UAAP President demanded clarity on the bill’s implementation and funding mechanism, ensuring it benefits the Southeast region and not just APC allies. He emphasized that prioritizing party interests over the well-being of the people is unacceptable.
Offor concluded by supporting Governor Otti’s leadership and industrialization efforts, urging citizens to prioritize reality over political ego.
